Day 3

We were up early today. There was no point in trying to sleep in with such a long day ahead of us. So we got up and hit the road. The word of the day is cornfields. Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska. Nothing but cornfields.

Crossing the border between Illinois and Iowa, we crossed the Mississippi.

We went by Iowa City to see the Hawkeye’s stadium. I got boo-ed there too holding up my Penn State blanket. The town looked really nice. Definitely wanna make it back one day for a Penn State game.

After that it was a whole lot of driving. We stopped for lunch in Des Moines. Nice clean city. Reminds me of Doylestown a lot. It may have a bit more residents, but not much. It had one street with a few Bar/Restaurants. That was about it. We stopped in at a brew pub and got burgers.

Back on the road… More cornfields…

After Iowa City we drove straight through the state to Lincoln, Nebraska. Went and saw the Cornhuskers stadium and campus. Of the three campuses we’ve been to so far, I like this one the least. I’ve heard that Lincoln is a beautiful place, so we might not have been the best it has to offer. I personally thought Notre Dame and Iowa looked nicer.

We’re driving now. Gonna pull over soon and camp for the night on the plains and listen to the Phillies game on the radio. Go Phils!
